Rogelio (Roger) Arias, A.S.

Mechanical Design and Machinist

Rogelio earned his A.S. in Manufacturing Technology from Los Angeles Valley College in 2012.  Guiding Rogelio’s varied professional experiences has been his love of robotics that started when he was a Machinist at Mechanized Propulsion Systems, where he worked on building a 20-foot-tall giant robot as part of a larger government research effort.  Rogelio joined the Cerritos College family in 2015 teaching in the Machine Tool Technology Department (MTT). Prior to Cerritos, he worked as a Mechanical Technician at the California State University Northridge in the College of Engineering and Computer Science. While there, Rogelio worked with students to bring their mechanical projects to life through rigorous design and research. In 2017 he moved to the College of Science and Math where he began to support faculty and staff in their various research projects requiring mechanical expertise.
